1/29/2024 0 Comments 2016 equinox changes![]() I've been reading that once it gets cold outside (which it is already getting down to 32F at night), it's likely that the seals are going to break again and cause the engine to fail. I'm worried it's putting me in danger (and anyone else on the road). ![]() Now, I'm having to put oil in my car constantly in order to drive it. If TONS of other people are having the same issue(s) (over 1000 complaints), then why are consumers not being reimbursed? It looks like there are only lawsuits for this out there that are being handled at the consumer-level (which I cannot afford an attorney for this either). I can't afford a new car or a fix on the current car since the issue is massive and requires a new engine. I know that my car falls under this as well, but has not received any warranty or any recalls yet. The car is only 5-6 years old and only has 100,000 miles on it! I'm seeing the same make/model have recalls and several issues with the engine seals and the excessive engine oil consumption. Considering the repair earlier this year, the car has cost me more than it's worth by far. ![]() The KBB value of the car is just under $10,000. They quoted the repair at $11,000 (which I have found quotes that are lower since, but not by much). I brought it in a few days ago (10/18/22) and the mechanics said that I had a "bad" engine and that the car's issue was excessive oil consumption. Now, the car has 100,000 miles on it and the engine light came on again. I had a minor incident where the windshield wiper flew off in the middle of the street and have seen a few complaints about that, so thought it was noteworthy enough to mention. I thought the issue was fixed, but I think it's related to the current issue I'm now having. Inside, you can keep passengers endlessly infotained with a long list of tech features. Some previous background on my 2016 Chevy Equinox that I bought brand new: - I brought in my car about 6 months ago to get it repaired for an engine seal issue. Best of all, your smooth, swift ride saves you plenty of money at the pump. With the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, you get world-class power and performance. Conclusionįour years may not seem like much, but, when it comes to on-road technology, they can make a big difference. That's not to say that the 2012 model doesn't have tech features of its own, but you'll certainly notice the difference between the two crossovers. The MyLink system wasn't available in 2012, so you have to upgrade to the new model to enjoy these sweet perks. Once you do, you have the power to stream your kids' favorite music playlists or chat with friends, hands-free. Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, you can connect devices to the system wirelessly. MyLink also offers voice-activated technology, so you can talk to the system without looking away from traffic. Menus are intuitive, so it shouldn't take long at all to find your way around the entire system. You'll be amazed at how easy it is to use. Use the MyLink infotainment system's 7-inch touchscreen to access apps. But when it comes to infotainment options, the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox has you covered. We know that it can be hard to keep the little ones entertained, especially during long road trips or commutes. The 2012 V6 engine earns the exact same fuel economy numbers, even though the 2016 engine delivers a stronger performance. You might expect a weaker engine to give you better fuel economy, but it doesn't really work out that way. As you can see, the modern V6 engine gives you much more output. It's good for 264 horses and 222 pound-feet of torque. The used 2012 Chevrolet Equinox wrings its best performance out of a 3.0-liter V6 engine. You'll also get plenty of bang for your buck, because this powerful engine earns up to 17 city/24 highway mpg. With all-wheel drive, the 2016 Equinox feels super sporty, especially on winding roads. It delivers 301 horsepower and 272 pound-feet of torque for a swift, smooth performance. If you want the quickest possible ride, test-drive the 3.6-liter V6 engine. When it comes to power, the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox beats the 2012, hands down. Below, we lay out some of the most important differences between the 2012 and the 2016 Equinox models. What you might still be wondering about, however, is whether you should buy new or used.
